This book is about an artist living in zip code: 48708. That is Bay
City, Michigan. IT is an alright place to live but not so much for
an artist. The area is not devoid of art. There is a great gallery
here: C.A.T. WORK Art Gallery, 514 Washington, Bay City, Michigan,
48708, 989, 893-2771, Ext. #6. This gallery is attached to Larson
Salvage, a business well known in the area. Tom Larson owns both
businesses. A great advocate for art in Bay City, MI Hard to
believe a gallery of great modern art exists in this area Tom has
about 100 pieces of my artwork on display as well a his own, his
daughter Amelia, his son, Carl as well as other local artists
including other local artists such a Rich Long, a personal and
artistic friend. Come to the gallery if you are ever in Bay City,
Michigan Also in the book are black and white photographs of the
local area: buildings and landscapes as well as images of my
artwork. I chose to make the book in a graphic novel format with
black and white pages between them. . I love black and white
photographs I also love color but for this project black and white
was appropriate because I wanted the book to make the book a
combination of both. Thanks for looking: Patrick B. Humphreys
This book is created of paintings are of India ink drawings of Bay
City, Michigan buildings. Not all the buildings of Bay City but
select ones chosen by me. I chose to do 97% of the images in black
and white to give the impression of old archival photographs. I
LOVE BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS. These images are among my most
successful ones done recently. I have had many favorable reviews of
these drawing I hope you enjoy looking at them Thanks, Patrick B.
Humphreys.
This is not a how-to but rather an artist's exploration of an
unused and misunderstood media. Also included is the work of the
author's son, Cameron. This is Cameron's first inclusion in a book.
Thanks for looking, Patrick Humphreys
This book was very fun to make Why draw something a child of five
could do ? Especially if you have a Master of Fine Arts. Sometimes
simple is very hard Look at modern art . The simple image is used
to entertain and make you ponder why did they make that painting?
But is it art ? That type of discussion is for adults This book was
made for children like my son, Cameron, to entertain you Enjoy the
Zombie Stick Man Blues for yourself As a bonus there are included
black and white line drawings so that you can color your own Zombie
Stick Man however you choose At the very end of the book are pages
colored with one colored pencil color with at the bottom right
corner of each page is your very own Zombie Stick Man to share your
drawing with Thanks and enjoy, Patrick B. Humphreys
This book contains images that are of personal photographs,
original drawings and paintings manipulated with a computer program
to give the image a "tainted" or antique look. I want the image to
look like a photograph that you would find in your drawer that
shows its "age." That is the photograph appears to be in "poor"
shape. It has "character." I hope you enjoy this book as much as I
do. Thanks for looking, Patick B. Humphreys
This book is in the format of a graphic novel. A graphic novel of
visual poetry that includes digitally manipulated personal
paintings and drawings of flowers and sweets with the inclusion of
words that create poetry about the images. "Sticky sweets" images
that you will "devour" with poetry . I hope you enjoy this book as
much as I have had in creating it Thanks for looking, Patrick B.

This book is a "whatever book." This term I got from my son,
Cameron. One of my sketchbooks he entitled "whatever." I liked the
idea. So this book contain drawings and paintings that might not
seem to relate to each other. I have a book inside a book . I have
the kids book entitled " Kountin' Kitties " . That is a counting
kids book with them counting "kitties" form 1-10. I also have
religious images with Mayan glyphs with images from my personal
comic characters I call Rock Hard Cupcake and Dead Fish. I think it
is an eclectic mix of images I hope you enjoy looking at it as much
as I have had in creating it. Thanks for looking, Patrick B.

This book is the illustrated record of my trip of a lifetime to the
wonder and beauty of Bali, Indonesia. While attending Western
Michigan University I had the opportunity to go to Bali, Indonesia.
Even though I was only there for about 2 and a half weeks it still
inspires me to this day, thirteen years later the memories are
still vivid for me. I hope these images inspire and influence you
like they have for me. I chose to make this book into the format of
a comic book or graphic novel to make it readily assessable to
viewers. The images in the book are original photographs, personal
drawings and paintings manipulated with a comic book program.
Thanks for looking, Patrick B. Humphreys
This book is not a guide book or price book but rather is an
artist's interpretation of a very inventive toy created during one
year: 1968. A year before I was born. I never had the opportunity
to have these toys during my youth. But I have attained these toys
at various places such as ebay, flea markets or antique shows. A
perfect set of all 7 figures can be found on ebay for over $5000
MUCH TOO RICH FOR MY BUDGET. I have entitled this book: OSM: WL
Condition. That is Outer Space Men: Well Loved Condition. My toys
have missing paint, missing limbs, and wire sticking through. One
of the figures I only have the head. The images in this book are
original paintings and drawings inspired by these bendable toys. I
also have taken photographs and manipulated them digitally using a
computer program. Mel Birnkrankt and Gary Schaeffer own the
copyright for these figures. THIS BOOK IS NOT AUTHORIZED BY MEL
BIRNKRANKT OR GARY SCHAEFFER MY DESIRE IS THEY LIKE THIS BOOK.
THANKS FOR LOOKING, PATRICK B. HUMPHREYS
This book contains ink and watercolor pencil drawings inspired by
my divorce. My divorce lasted about a year. These drawings are the
visual manifestation of my thoughts and emotions about the divorce.
The subject matter is varied, from dissection drawings to still
life made up of my toy collection. Enter if you dare into my
DIVORCE DIARY Thanks for looking, Patrick B. Humphreys
This book is made up of a first glance unrelated images. But upon
closer inspection the way the images are arranged create a
narrative, a personal narrative. What you get from it will be
different from your friend, wife, etc. That was my intention. All
the images are my own either photographs, drawings, or paintings.
These artworks are then digitally altered using a comic book
computer program. Thanks for looking, Patrick B. Humphreys
Gyotabstract? ? What does that mean ? ? It is a combination of
Gyotaku and abstract. Gyotaku is Japanese fish printing . This
ancient printmaking technique is making a print from the fish to
record the fish that the fisherman caught. This was beneficial
before the advent of the camera. The second half of my term is
abstract and that refers to abstract painting I did around and on
the fish print. I created a new art form. I hope you enjoy looking
at it as much as I have in creating it. Thanks, Patrick B.
Humphreys.
